Project Overview:
River ferries and working barges endure constant exposure to harsh aquatic environments, moisture cycling, and mechanical wear. To extend the vessel's operational lifespan and prevent structural corrosion, a reliable maintenance coating system was applied to the above-waterline exterior and deck structures.
Short Summary:
Complete protective maintenance of a river ferry using International Paint high-performance systems. The steel structures were primed and reinforced with Interseal 670HS surface-tolerant epoxy and finished with Interlac 665 gloss enamel for durable atmospheric and marine barrier protection above the waterline.
Application Area:
Coating System Specification:
Surface Tolerant Primer / Tie-Coat: Interseal 670HS
A high-solids, low-VOC 2-pack epoxy designed for excellent corrosion protection over maintenance-prepared steel surfaces where full abrasive blasting is challenging.
Finish / Topcoat: Interlac 665
A classic single-pack silicone alkyd finish providing a high-gloss, weather-resistant barrier against UV degradation, splash, and atmospheric marine exposure.
