Project Overview:
Tribe Hotel Phnom Penh is a design-led lifestyle hotel requiring architectural finishes that combine contemporary aesthetics with structural fire safety. Following the original construction completion in 2022, the property expanded its event facilities in 2024 by adding a new ballroom on the top floor. Kontech provided complete coating and passive fire protection (PFP) packages for both the initial build and the subsequent structural rooftop renovation.

In 2024, Kontech supplied AkzoNobel’s Intergard 251 and Interchar 2090 intumescent system for PFP compliance on large structural beams during the rooftop ballroom expansion.

Surface Preparation & Primer: Jotun Interior & Exterior Putty paired with Jotashield Primer to seal masonry substrates and prevent efflorescence.
Exterior Weather Protection: Jotashield Colour Extreme and Jotashield Antifade Colours Semi Gloss, engineered for advanced UV defense, heat reflection, and long-term color retention against tropical weathering.
Luxury Interior Finishes: Majestic True Beauty Matt, delivering an elegant, smooth finish with low odor and easy cleanability for hotel guest rooms and corridors.
Utility Metalwork: Jotamastic 90, Conseal Touch-Up (TU) direct-to-metal acrylic coating for exterior handrails and utility steel fixtures.
2. Passive Fire Protection (PFP) & Structural Steel Systems:
2022 Base Build Steel Protection: Jotamastic 70 epoxy mastic primer topped with SteelMaster 1200WF solvent-borne intumescent coating for structural fire defense.
2024 Rooftop Ballroom Renovation:
Primer: Intergard 251 — a two-pack, fast-curing zinc phosphate epoxy primer providing anticorrosive protection for the newly installed heavy transfer beams.
Intumescent Fireproofing: Interchar 2090 — a high-performance, single-pack intumescent coating applied to the structural steel beams to achieve certified cellulosic passive fire resistance while preserving clean architectural clearances.
